Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam (AFFR) added an immersive media programme to the festival this year at Nieuwe Instituut. The programme, entitled Realitiesⁿ, explores how technologies like AR, VR and XR are reshaping architectural imagination. Indyvideo installed the work Capital City by Elian Somers, an investigation into the architectural and ideological ambitions behind the new capital of Kazakhstan, that was built from scratch in the middle of the steppe by former president Nursultan Nazarbayev. Conceived as a model for a united Eurasia, the city is both a nationalist monument and a utopian project of geopolitical unity.

We also did the last fine-tuning for the entire exhibition, to make sure everything was in top shape for the opening!
