On December 27 the new and improved Volksbuurtmuseum in Utrecht proudly opened its doors. The museum, rooted in the neighbourhood Wijk C, shows the story of daily life in the working-class neighbourhood. The museum partnered up with Indyvideo for the new setup, which now consists of four themed rooms where visitors can actively meet a fictional family from the neighbourhood 100 years ago and discover what it was like to live, work and go to school there. Besides the themed rooms there is a small cinema, showing uniquely footage of Utrecht from the previous centry. In the storyroom a selection from hundreds of interviews with residents from the working-class neighbourhoods in Utrecht can be heard.
